Julie Ellyn Designs
Custom gemstone cuff $225 value
"While I grew up to be a scientist just like my dad, I never gave up creating…or gifting. I have now taken the plunge to focus full time on my art (and family). It is a dream to be able to showcase my designs, support my community, and spend precious time with my loved ones. I am excited to spread a little sunshine with my jewelry." - Julie Ter Borg

I got my start in photography at an early age. My dad ran the visual arts program at a local college and taught me how to expose, develop and print my own photographs by age 12. I spent most of my teenaged years in our basement darkroom, and the next dozen or so years documenting my and my friend's adventures backpacking, canoeing and rock climbing. As my primary career in medicine became more demanding, I began taking one or two week-long trips to make photographs in wild places as an antidote to professional burnout. In a world of suffering, my aim now is to reflect the beauty and tranquillity that I have experienced through landscape. Photography is my means for contemplating the natural world and understanding my place therein.
