The Skyline Country Cloggers, based in Crozet, Virginia, is a non-profit club for the purpose of promoting and continuing the rich heritage of American clog dancing.
Our group was founded in 1987 and several founding members still dance on the team. Many others have been with the club for at least 20 years. While that longevity makes everyone feel like family, we also have some married couples and mother-daughters on the team. We teach beginning clogging through Albemarle County Parks & Recreation every year and welcome new members with clogging experience all-year long. |
Gina Sobel is a natural improviser. Accomplished on multiple instruments (flute, sax, voice), she radiates energy and excitement in her live performances and is sought after as a soloist with national and international performers. She is an award-winning songwriter and composer; in her own music, Sobel brings together elements of funk, jazz and American folk music into a fresh and compelling sound.

Zuzu's Hot 5 is Pete Vigour (acoustic guitar), Brandon Rose (trumpet, cornet), Aaron Ollwell (clarinet), Sam Green (upright bass), Paul Rosen (tenor banjo), Gary Elwell (trombone), and Susanna Rosen (vocals, uke). You’ll hear stomps, Dixieland, blues, and ballads from the 1900s to the early 1930s. Think Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong’s Hot 5s and 7s, and Bessie Smith.

Our tunes will get people up & dancing, toes tapping’, & hands clapping’. We aim to share our upbeat outlook and good time feel with all we meet. We call & teach simple old time dances like the Virginia Reel, guaranteeing lots of fun & much laughter. |
Alan and Rene joined to form Swansong because they both knew from experience that music is profoundly healing and needed, especially today. Their decision to blend their musical talent, artistic impulse and passion results in a delightful and hauntingly beautiful tapestry of music. Flowing seamlessly from classical to contemporary styles, they present melodies and harmonies that may be tucked away in the back of the mind – music once heard, but eager to be heard again. Acoustically and electronically, together they create textures of compelling soundscapes.
