All it took was a bit of simple mixology to connect the dots for Marie Borgman and Koda Kerl, better known as the founders of deep-roots-rock outfit Chamomile and Whiskey. One evening Borgman and Kerl, native musicians of Nelson County, Virginia, combined chamomile tea with Evan Williams bourbon whiskey for an evening libation. Upon taste, the duo decided that the combo of chamomile and whiskey perfectly embodied the music they’d been creating—thus, Chamomile and Whiskey was born.

Growing up and making a life in Nelson County, Virginia, Kai has carved out a career writing about the people and landscapes around him. His first show was in middle school and there were polyester shirts, strobe lights, and dancing. He's been playing music since.
When not fronting the rock act Lord Nelson, Kai has supported artists such as BJ Barham, Andrew Combs, Erin Rea and many others. Pushing into the waters of a solo record and career has slowed like much of this past year but with a full album in the can, more songs on the way, and light creeping around the edges, the luxury of music and hope is hard to ignore. |
Kim and Jimbo play Americana, old-time southern mountain music, gospel, and songs for families and children. Performing together professionally for over 20 years, the Carys have performed for more than 300,000 adults and children at festivals, museums, cultural centers, schools and libraries throughout the state.
